THANK YOU! THE MAP BLOCK PARTY WAS A SUCCESS!
Amazing! The 15th Anniversary MAP Block Party on Saturday was amazing! We were so thrilled to see over 300 residents sign-up for the block party. This was MAP's first in-person event in nearly a year and a half. It was so fun to see MAP Leaders, residents, businesses, and other organizations connect at the beautiful Julian Fisher Park where it all began.
The MAP team wants to thank all of the booth vendors and City Departments for coming with raffle prizes and giveaways. We had local businesses, non-profits, Public Works, CERT, Monrovia Library, Listos, Police Fire, Wildness Preserve, and so many more share information with attendees. There were games, raffles, and free BBQ dinner. We also had a delicious shaved ice truck come, which helped us cool down from this heat! The event kicked off at 5:00 PM and it was a beautiful evening with a cool breeze.
We want to thank all of the vendors for donating raffle prizes and a shout out to Celebration Sign Ninjas for donating an awesome large yard sign (photo below)! There was also a fun water balloon toss that was enjoyed by children and adults alike. NBS staff with the help of Monrovia Police Explorers served about 300 hotdogs and hotlinks to guests.
Thank you friends and neighbors for coming out to celebrate 15 years of the Monrovia Area Partnership! There are more events ahead including National Night Out (Aug. 3), Neighborhood Treasure Leroy Criss (Aug. 7), MAP-edu (Aug. 21), and the MAP Leadership Academies starting September 8th.
