We Need Your Input!!

The Monrovia Public Library is in the process of crafting a new strategic plan to achieve new and exciting milestones as a 21st century library striving to meet our community’s emerging and future needs.  As a key library stakeholder, we invite your participation in our strategic planning process.  Can they count on your involvement to make library services and programs even better than they are now?
The Library will be hosting a community forum will be held to gather input and perspective which will help shape a new strategic plan to guide the future.  The forum will be on October 8 (9am – 1 pm) at the Library.
Your ideas  will be used to guide decision-making on future library services, programs, and goals as they implement the strategic plan.  Your perspective is so valuable to the process.

Mulch & Compost Giveaway 9/24/16!

As part of the City’s current agreement with Athens Services, we have developed an overall Closed Loop Organics Recycling Program to comply with a variety of State of California regulatory requirements driven primarily by AB 1826 and AB 1594.  As part of the program that has been developed, organic waste and green waste collected here in Monrovia will be converted into mulch and compost and redistributed to our residents several times a year.
We are happy to be able to share that the first compost and mulch give-away event has been scheduled to take place later this month on September 24, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Chestnut Avenue, between Ivy Avenue and Myrtle Avenue.  The self-serve event will allow any resident of Monrovia to come out and collect compost and mulch for their use.
We hope to see you all at our first compost and mulch give-away event on September 24, 2016, and in the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to let me know!
