Annual 2016 Home Beautification Awards

Monrovia Garden Club hosts
 Annual 2016 Home Beautification Awards 
Front yard gardens of eight proud Monrovia residents are chosen by the Garden Club.  The yards are judged on:
The outstanding appearance of the gardenHow it enhances the home and the neighborhoodIts' own merit as a planted work of landscape art.
An award sign will be put in the front yard announcing the resident as a winner.  The Mayor will be presenting each resident with a "Certificate of Recognition".   A slideshow of the winning yards will be shown at the Garden Club's May 24 meeting.

The Monrovia Garden Club Tuesday May 24 at 7:00 pm, social time at 6:30 pm First Presbyterian Church in the Fellowship Hall  101 E Foothill Blvd

Do's and Don'ts of Yard Sales!

Here are some Do's and Dont's of Yard Sales:
Do: Get a Yard Sale Permit ($5 at the Community Development Counter) Do Not: Advertise on City property or on utility poles Do: Advertise in front of your house or by placing a sign on your (legally parked) car. Do: Hold your yard sale between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Please Note: Permits are good for two consecutive days.A yard sale may be held at one address every six months.If you cannot hold your yard sale on the date shown on your permit because of rain or for some other reason, call the Neighborhood Services Intern at (626) 932-5525 to reschedule your yard sale.
