Suicide Prevention Outreach & Education Campaign

Dear Community Partner,
In the past 5 years our community has been sadly impacted by the loss of 5 lives to suicide.  The affected residents were under the age of 23, 4 of them in our school system.  We are talking about 1 lost life per year within this age group (keep in mind adults are being impacted as well).  As we continue with our "call to action" we invite you to a community planning meeting for our upcoming March 4 Balance Community Outreach and Education Campaign sponsored by Monrovia Healing Connections.  Our planning meeting will be on Wednesday, February 4th at 5PM at the Monrovia Community Center. 
Monrovia Healing Connections Committee (suicide prevention task force made up of community members, City officials, students and MUSD staff) will be sponsoring a city-wide campaign, March 4 Balance, to coordinate,engage and execute a series of community outreach and educational events to raise awareness surrounding suicide and other related issues.

During the month of January, Monrovia residents can pick up a free reusable shopping bag from City Hall (415 S. Ivy Ave.) or Public Works (600 S. Mountain Ave.) Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00p.m. One bag per resident while supplies last.
